Cast-iron lawn jockey hitching post figure depicting a black (“Jocko”) groom, shown standing in a forward-leaning pose with one arm extended to holding a ring.  Mounted on its original cast-iron pedestal base with paneled sides and old white paint. An iconic example of early Black Americana garden ironwork, exhibiting strong sculptural presence and an untouched, authentic surface.
